INTRODUCTION
Since 1986, One Cottage Street, Easthampton MA has been the studio location of
ceramic designer Marcia LaRocque and woodworker David Levy.
Levy LaRocque Studio produces hand painted production and custom tile, pottery,
tile inlaid furniture and tile and wood accessories. Often tile are cut up and inlaid into hardwood picture frames, serving boards, turntables, mirrors, tables and more.
Marcia's tiles and pottery feature the "Maiolica" technique (rich glaze pigments with soft
edges brushed over a white glaze background). In the woodshop, David designs, builds and finishes hardwood furnishings using traditional methods. Levy LaRocque Studio also offers a custom home furnishings design service. A twice yearly Levy LaRocque gallery sale takes place during the One Cottage Street Open Studios, held the first weekend in June and December. Visitors are also welcome to purchase items in our studio gallery year around
by appointment or during workshops.
MOSAIC WORKSHOP
Aside from providing a beautiful view of Mt. Tom, Levy LaRocque Studio is a relaxing, comfortable space to share time with friends. Plan a mosaic workshop with your pals and engage your artist self through the intriguing medium of hand painted ceramic tile.
From the onset, Marcia will instruct and support each participant with their project, sharing her many years of ceramic design experience. Begin the workshop by selecting shapes and colors of broken up tile and create a design layout. Express a theme or simply approach your project spontaneously and watch what masterpiece unfolds. No mistakes are made with this method. No two projects alike. Become absorbed in your artwork and inspired by the process. All you need is imagination and free time to create a mosaic object of beauty and practicality!
DETAILS
Mosaic Workshops can be scheduled privately at $50 per hour. Most projects require a minimum of 2 hours. A private workshop is open to individuals or couples, whether it be students or adults. Children are welcome, but need to be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided.
Mosaic Workshops With Friends are 3 hours and require a minimum of 6 participants,
with a maximum of 8. They can be scheduled week days/nights and on weekends.
Cost is $25 per person and includes all raw materials for the following mosaic projects:
flower pot, mirror, picture frame and hot plate. Levy LaRocque Studio also offers additional or one-of-a-kind projects at extra cost. Please inquire.
For either Workshops, a nonrefundable $25 deposit holds your space. Remaining balance is due one week prior to scheduled date. In the case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, workshops may be rescheduled.

ADDITIONAL
Punctuality is important! Workshops begin promptly on the hour. Often other groups are scheduled the same day and there needs to be enough preparation time. Please arrive a few minutes early so all participants settle in and start together. Water, paper products and
utensils are provided at the studio. Feel free to bring food and beverages, if you’d like.

DIRECTIONS:
From Union Street in Easthampton, turn onto Liberty Street (7-Eleven store at corner).
Turn RIGHT into parking area at bottom of the hill (brick garages on RIGHT). Continue straight. Drive over bridge. Park in lot closest to bridge. Walk back over bridge and locate gray door “C” facing stream. Door will be propped open slightly. It’s usually locked after 3 PM weekdays and on weekends. Head up “C” staircase.
